SENGGIGI SHOPPING

"Beside exploring the area, we still have a task to wait for, to buy slippers! Because after a boat trip, car ride, restaurant, arrival at hotel and scooter ride with bare feet it is really time to get some footwear. After a beautiful road along the coastline with untouched beaches we arrive in the capital Mataram. A few times we stop to find a shop and people stop constantly asking where to go."

Senggigi Shopping

Most shops in Senggigi are located on the Jalan Raya Senggigi (the main street) and are open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You will find some nice boutiques here, where the shoppers can find everything from designer clothes to exquisite pearls grown in the sea at Lombok.
Many stalls, which you see in Senggigi, have beautiful specimens of authentic freshwater and saltwater pearls. Although they may not have the best quality, they are still an excellent souvenir to take home. Sellers, who walk along the streets and the beach, can be tricky, but they are usually polite and will leave if you only say politely and 'No'.

Pasar Seni, the Senggigi art market, is located near the Sheraton Hotel, between the main road and Senggigi Bay. This market is a treasure trove for visitors, who want to buy handicrafts from the island, in addition to reasonably priced clothing. If you can not succeed at Pasar Seni, Bayan, which is located next to the Taman Restaurant, offers a colossal selection of merchandise, ranging from hand-carved wooden furniture to oil paintings, lamps and household items, all of which are reasonably priced.

You will also find some more luxury stores, such as Exotic Style, the Little Shop and Treasure Chest, all of which have a large selection, such as household items, jewelry and swimwear.

Asmara Collection has a very extensive collection. The owners Sophie and Bakar Mulahella represent a perfectly working British-Indonesian team. You will find carefully selected handmade items of good quality from Indonesia at reasonable prices. The range of the Asmara Collection is regularly updated; new designs and well-preserved antique pieces are often added.
The Ciokolata Boutique on the Jalan Raya Senggigi, next to the Senggigi Jaya supermarket, has a wide range of design and casual clothing. The boutique also has a small but beautiful collection of expensive and exquisite Autore pearls grown in the sea at Lombok.
If you are really interested in pearls you can also go to the far right corner of Senggigi Plaza. There you will find House of Pearls, with beautiful freshwater and saltwater pearls and jewelry. A classic medium range of white pearls costs about Rp150,000 to Rp200,000.

Senggigi Shopping

There are many more authentic trinkets on Lombok for sale than in Bali. Many of the items that you can buy are still made by the inhabitants of the island. Every small village on Lombok specializes in a certain type of craft, so whether you are looking for a piece of pottery or fabric, it is often best to go directly to the source to find the best quality - and the best deal . Many of these handicrafts can only be found on local markets or at small stalls. It is very normal to negotiate on price until you agree.

From a travel blog:

"After a few days of vacation, it has become time to travel. The three islands of Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan lie on the northwest coast of Lombok and we have heard and read that these islands are true paradises. We decide to go to Gili Trawangan. This is the island with the most amenities (because who can do without internet?), Hotels and restaurants. At a small office we buy tickets for the crossing .. The next day we are picked up by a minibus and taken to the port of Bengsal. There we change into a small narrow boat. While the dolphins swim around us, we sail to Gili Trawangan."
